Football Analyst Sutton Faces Off Against Artist Murs in Top Flight Predictions

Arsenal's ten-match winning streak was ended by Sunderland before the global hiatus, but can the English top division frontrunners recover against local foes Tottenham this Sunday?

"{I believe like Arsenal are miles ahead of Tottenham currently but Spurs boss Thomas Frank will have a plan for this game," remarked soccer specialist Chris Sutton.

"Frank will try to neutralize Arsenal, who have not always been at their sparkling finest this season - but Mikel Arteta's side typically still manage to win."

Sutton is making predictions for all 380 Premier League fixtures this season, against artificial intelligence, readers and a range of guests.

In the twelfth round, he takes on singer Olly Murs, who is a Manchester United supporter.

Murs' new album, Knees Up, is available on Friday.

Soccer and Parenting Experiences

Murs is a skilled footballer as well as a accomplished artist and has been a star of several charity football matches over time - but he is not intending a serious return as a footballer.

"{I recently played in a charity game the other evening for a friend of mine," he explained. "My side was trailing 3-1 when I came off in the 60th minute, and they went on to win 4-3, so you can interpret that what you want!

"I continue to love football, but I hurt my knee a few years ago and it even now hasn't fully recovered. I wish I could play more but the unpredictability of the sport means it's too risky for me in my career to do it properly again.

"Additionally I am 41 now, and we are not all Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very content not playing football and I am gearing up for the moment that my child or boy decides to play instead."

Murs and his spouse Amelia Tank have two children, Madison and Albert, and he is prepared to emulate his dad by taking on the role of their manager.

"I will not push football on our children but I've previously told my wife that if they happen to get the bug for it then I will have to go and get my manager qualifications - and I will likely be coaching their Saturday football side," he added.

"I watched my relatives play a lot, and I truly got into it, and I obviously owned a soccer team for a while too.

"My dad coached with us when I was a kid, which is probably where I get it from. He managed our team for two or three years and had a wonderful time with it. That might be the future for me as well, and I am looking forward to it!"

Premier League Forecasts

Weekend, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

Chelsea might have to be patient for Cole Palmer's comeback from injury but their attack is already more potent with Pedro and Liam Delap both back fit.

I still think this game will be quite tight, though. Burnley are disciplined and their only at Turf Moor defeats so far have been against the Reds and Arsenal.

It smells of a one-all draw to me, but I am actually going to go with the London side to edge it for what would be their third league win in a row.

Sutton's forecast: 1-2

The singer's pick: Chelsea will be superior. 1-3

Artificial intelligence's outlook: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Bournemouth have lost their past two matches - albeit both of them were on the road - but they got absolutely spanked by Aston Villa last time out which surprised me.

On the other hand, the Hammers secured back-to-back victories before the hiatus and, although both of those games were at home, they do look competitive again.

The Hammers' sole away win this season came at Nottingham Forest in August, when their boss Nuno Espirito Santo was previously that team's manager.

Therefore, what on earth do I go with here - will it be the Hammers extending their run under their manager, or Bournemouth responding?

I am going to choose Bournemouth, because I think what occurred against Villa was a blip.

The pundit's prediction: 2-0

Olly's outlook: Bournemouth are performing strongly but the visitors have improved under Nuno. 2-2

The algorithm's pick: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Bees were considered one of the favourites for relegation before the campaign started, but they have impressed a several observers under Keith Andrews and are in good form with three wins in their last four matches.

My son advised me to get Brentford striker Igor Thiago in my Fantasy Football team a few weeks back and, guess what, I didn't listen.

Thiago will likely score again on the weekend but I am nonetheless not going to pick him or back the away side at Brighton's ground.

They have not had much fortune on the travel this season, and Brighton are always strong at their stadium. Brentford will attempt to attack on the break but I feel the home manager's side pose much more of a danger.

Sutton's forecast: 2-1

Olly's view: This could be one of those games where you think there is going to be a many goals but it actually turns out to be rather close. 1-1

The computer's outcome: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

This is a massive game for Fulham, who have lost five of their last six matches.

They have got plenty of talent in their squad but it nonetheless seems like they could be dragged into a relegation fight.

As for the Black Cats, well they are the surprise package of the Premier League campaign so far.

Their display in the two-all draw with the Gunners last time out was excellent. We have not seen any other team rough up the North London side like that this term, and Sunderland were more than a match for them.

The logical choice to do to back the Black Cats here, because they are clearly able of roughing the hosts up too and, the previous occasion they were in west London, they defeated the Blues at the close of last month.

But I am not do that. Instead, I really need to carry on opposing Sunderland with my predictions. I am claiming a lot of responsibility for their positive results because they evidently enjoy to defy my predictions.

Looking at Fulham's at Craven Cottage form, the sole side they have been defeated by is the league leaders. Marco Silva's side will be absolutely desperate for a good outcome, so I am going to say they will secure three points.

Sutton's forecast: 1-0

Olly's choice: I'm aware the visitors are doing well and also that Fulham are on a poor streak... but they have still been respectable at Craven Cottage this season. 2-0

The algorithm's outlook: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

This is a tough one to call. Liverpool have lost seven of their past 10 matches in every tournament, but might they be among the teams who benefit from the {international break|
