LA Explodes in Celebration as Los Angeles Dodgers Secure Back-to-Back World Series Championship
The City of Angels witnessed citywide festivities after the Dodgers won a thrilling seven-game World Series title. Supporters worldwide united with local residents in celebration, marking the first time in a quarter-century that a team has secured back-to-back championships.
Victory Parade Attracts Massive Crowds
Local events featured a downtown parade on Monday morning, a ticketed rally at the team's home stadium, and impromptu gatherings throughout the city.
Social media videos show thousands of Los Angeles residents packing downtown streets, many carrying handmade banners and team flags. The team was seen riding high on a open-top bus through the masses, raising the Commissioner’s trophy high.
“My focus is already about the next championship we’re going to achieve this,” the star player stated through an translator.
The parade route concluded at Dodger Stadium, where the players emerged to the rapper’s “Not Like Us,” with DJ Mustard spinning music and the artist driving a light blue classic car around the field.

However, the team owner received a less warm welcome at the rally. Video footage from the gathering appear to show Walter taking the stage to a mix of applause and boos, with negative shouts punctuating his address.
The championship served as a positive moment in what has been a challenging year for the city. An approximate quarter-million people attended to the championship parade last year, and according to Dodgers player Freddie Freeman, fans this year showed as much if not more enthusiasm.
“I feel like it’s almost double from last year,” Freeman said. “These fans are crazy. It’s so awesome to be a involved in this.”
