Performer Rejects Anti-Vaxxer Position After Lending His Voice To Contentious Coronavirus Documentary

The acclaimed actor has provided his voice to a recent film that questions the efficacy of vaccines and praises one-time cabinet secretary the political figure.

The Film's Contentious Foundation

Called "Plague of Corruption," the project is based on a popular book published by a disgraced researcher, who gained notoriety during the pandemic for claims that the virus was caused by a faulty batch of the seasonal immunization.

The publication's writing partner, a producer, has previously authored books with controversial media personality the Infowars host. The producer recently posted hailing Neeson's involvement in the documentary.

An Unequivocal Denial

Representatives for the actor have issued a response strongly denying implications that he subscribes to anti-immunization beliefs.

"Many acknowledge that misconduct might be present within the pharmaceutical industry, but that cannot be conflated with rejection of vaccines," the statement reads. "Neeson has never been, and remains not, anti-vaccination. His extensive work with the global charity highlights his long-held support for global immunisation initiatives."

The statement added that the performer did not shape the film's editorial content and that inquiries about its assertions ought to go to the producers.

Central Themes Featured in the Documentary

In the film, the narration read by Neeson includes several strong statements:

  • It states that pro-vaccine voices have demanded "unconditional submission" to public institutions.
  • It posits that "medical science has become highly politicized."
  • Kennedy is interviewed claiming, "The major issue with vaccines is that they simply are not adequately tested."
  • It further attacks Covid lockdowns, claiming they caused severe distress that led to the loss of thousands of lives.
  • On the topic of the immunizations, it mentions a perspective that they were "rushed to market" and seen as "hazardous tests."

Previous Controversy and Current Debates

The film includes a 2004 BBC documentary about HIV drug testing on children, which was afterwards the topic of a BBC apology by the network for unbalanced reporting.

Recently, RFK Jr called on the Centers for Disease Control to alter its longstanding position that there is no causal relationship between vaccines and autism spectrum disorder. This assertion is also referenced in the documentary, despite a fresh analysis from the WHO stating no such link has been found.

A Previous Position of Endorsement

Standing in contrast to the film's message, Neeson has formerly shown clear advocacy for vaccines in his capacity as a UNICEF goodwill ambassador.

Previously, he described vaccines as "a remarkable triumph," stating that "The debate about vaccines in the past few years has forgotten how much benefit they have done... It is perhaps one of the biggest collective achievements in human history."

The documentary ends with Neeson's voice proclaiming, "This is not the end of our story. Rather, it is the dawn of a new chapter."
