The Renowned Musician Calls On Public Help to Propel Together for Palestine Lullaby to UK Holiday Chart Peak.

A charity drive is aiming to send a Palestinian lullaby to the peak of the festive singles chart. The effort aims to deliver assistance to people in Gaza while also spotlighting Palestinian cultural expression.

An Opportunity for Unity and an "Chart Upset"

Musician and artist Brian Eno, who contributes to the track, stated that the release called 'Lullaby' represents a moment to stand with Palestinians over the Christmas period. He acknowledged the potential for an unlikely festive coup.

“That would be amazing if that occurred, yes,” he commented. “I wouldn't be completely let down if it doesn’t, Christmas singles are a thing unto themselves.”

Resilient Spirit of Self-Determination

Palestinian singer Nai Barghouti, who sings on the adaptation of a traditional lullaby called Yamma Mwel El Hawa, explained the song's resilient spirit.

“It occupies a profound significance for a lot of people,” Barghouti explained. “The message is that I would rather die in dignity than spend my life without freedom. This is the primary message of the song; we desire to exist a respectful existence that we merit as a people.”

Production History and Contributing Musicians

The song was recorded after a solidarity show held in September. First conceived to be done as a live recording, the performance was omitted from the lengthy event due to time constraints.

The impressive roster of performers appearing on Lullaby encompasses a range of acclaimed names from the industry. All were part of the benefit event, which successfully generated a substantial amount for charitable causes.

Production and Release

Lullaby was brought to life by a group of music creators. The single features a fusion of the original Arabic with freshly written English words.

The group managing the project have stated that their aim is to raise as much as possible for a dedicated fund. These donations will be allocated to projects in Palestine through an non-profit partner.

“We don’t have a specific target,” a spokesperson said. “We aim for whatever we can get. Of course, the higher the total, the greater the impact. It all goes out to Gaza.”

The reality in the territory was noted for its extreme devastation, with a vast majority of infrastructure reportedly in ruins or severely impacted.

“Against that backdrop, a handful of millions is unlikely to make an enormous impact. But I think the significant factor is first of all raising awareness for this issue and showing the human dimension of the story.”

The song is set to be released at the end of the week. Additionally, a full recording of the benefit event will be made available for streaming on a digital service from the 19th of December.
