The Streaming Giant Casts Ideal Actor for Bon Clay in One Piece Upcoming Installment
Baroque Works is geared up to exert significant influence in Netflix’s upcoming season of One Piece, even if the real showdown won’t take place until the third season, and a cherished, audience-beloved member has now been chosen.
Netflix announced recently that the skilled actor is now part of the One Piece season 3 cast and will embody Bon Clay. The role has the ability to morph into an identical duplicate of any individual they’ve made contact with with their dominant hand. The performer, who is non-binary and uses they/them pronouns, will play a version of that figure reinterpreted as non-binary, rather than as a drag artist, in the live-action series, differing from the source material and cartoon version.
Escola will work alongside several other recently announced actors set to bring Baroque Works to life, featuring chief Mr. 0, played by Joe Manganiello, an emerging star as a key member, and a familiar face, who also joins the cast as the monarch of the fictional land.
Though this character is a important part of Baroque Works, the persona will be introduced in One Piece season 3. Considering season 2 expected to adapt the Little Garden storyline, this represents a notable change in the placement of their first appearance, one that could signal further changes to the story’s structure.
Their mix of precise humor and profound feeling makes them a ideal selection for the role. Along with their current animated role in the youth-focused cartoon movie Boys Go to Jupiter, they earned widespread acclaim and numerous honors for writing and starring in the successful stage production Oh Mary!, emphasizing the adaptability they’ll bring to one of One Piece’s most celebrated roles.
Netflix's live-action One Piece show is due to premiere for its next installment on March 10, 2026.
